| College Initiative College Initiative (CI) programs focus on fostering the relationship between COAE and the collegiate NSBE chapters at Ohio State University and Ohio University. Through these programs, COAE provides collegiate students with professional development, networking opportunities, and support at various events throughout the year. | COAE/OSU Professional Development Panel Wednesday, May 5th Hale Center 153 W 12th Ave Columbus, OH 43210 6:00PM Event Description: The focus of this program will be "Preparing For Internship/Co-op" Some topics to be discussed are as follows: Mastering Communication: - Using the appropriate media to get results (e.g. conflict resolution, scheduling meetings, follow up from an interview/conversation) - Communicating to different audiences (executive, professor, etc.) - Creating your 30 sec elevator commercial (impactful statements for your audience) - The art of small talk around the office Networking: - Career Fair - Office Setting Visibility: - How to make sure that you get exposure for the work you do - Finding a mentor Style of Dress: Business Casual PLEASE email Stephanie at ci@coae-nsbe.org by Friday April 30th, if you are interested in serving as a panelist. |
