About COAE
Membership
During the 2008-2009 year the Central Ohio Alumni chapter will focus on retaining existing members and
increasing the number of members actively involved with the chapter. Our strategy to achieve our goal is to
implement effective programs and activities in the areas of community service, pre-college initiative,
collegiate initiative and professional development.

Community Service
  • A Walk for Education - This signature NSBE program is a grass-roots education awareness event
where volunteers walk door-to-door in predominately minority neighborhoods distributing
    education information.
  • UNCF Walk - COAE donates money and participates in this annual event benefiting the United
    Negro College Fund.
  • Relay for Life - COAE donates money and participates in this annual event benefiting the American
    Cancer Society.

Pre-College Initiative (PCI)
  • Brookhaven High School Winter Institute - COAE provides tutors for Brookhaven's Saturday
    morning OGT preparation sessions.
  • TechCorpsNSBE Jr chapter - COAE coordinates monthly activities and events for the TechCorp
    NSBE Jr. chapter.
